Class Overview
This session includes two guided meditations, a lecture on techniques and challenges, and interactive group sharing. This is the first half of an excellent introduction into the basics of meditation from a humanist perspective and is great for beginners or seasoned practitioners alike! The guided meditations of both Fundamentals courses utilize a variety of styles to give the practitioner a chance to discover what form works best for them. Although it isn’t required, these sessions are recommended before taking any of the other sessions, as the class content provides a more complete overview and explanation that serves to create a foundation for future sessions.
All sessions will emphasize Humanist ideals and values and will give the practitioner multiple perspectives on the meditation experience. The goal is to teach the practitioner a better way to live, both for themselves and the world around them. All studio sessions will have ample comfortable chairs to sit on! We have only a few spare cushions and pads for those wanting to sit on the floor so if you have your own, feel free to bring them!
